Grant provides more off-grid power!

Nov 26, 2025 | News

We have been awarded $7020 for the purchase of 2 batteries to increase the output of electricity from the off-grid system that powers our electrical and battery items. With the installation of the Tool Library this year and the amount of energy the chipper is drawing, (which allows us to keep all prunings on-site), the single battery was not enough. This grant will substantially increase our capacity to be sustainable at the community garden.

Many thanks to Banyule City Council for the grant, Sarah Willits for writing an excellent application, Paul Gale-Baker for substantial work obtaining quotes and Robin Gale-Baker for the idea.
