Sustainable Macleod is keen to continue to supply the community garden, members and the public with its much revered spring seedlings. Because the community garden is closed, members have taken on the task of raising seedlings from home.

Robin’s potting shed and Sandra’s greenhouse are overflowing with 2 dozen varieties of tomatoes, all grown from seed collected in Macleod so well adapted for Macleod conditions. Other members are growing a variety of plants. Capsicum, chilli and eggplant are about to be sown in punnets and placed in the community garden’s heat frame, built by Chris Newman with a heat mat from Terry Cass. These plants require a high temperature to germinate and we hope the heat bed will result in early seedlings.
